Safety Tie for William Downs

I made a Safety Tie for my dear friend and amazing artist William Downs. I found a water repellant safety orange fabric (not easy to work with), silver reflective tape, and plastic yellow tape (also not easy to work with). I created a traditional necktie pattern, cut and sewed all the pieces together. I embroidered William's coined hashtag #notworking across the keeper loop as a surprise bonus and personalization.

William is a very hardworker. He is an exceptionally talented painter and printmaker. I have had the honor of working long nights along side him in our paiting and printmaking studios in college, as well as exhibiting at many art shows with him. You can see William Downs' art on his website.
